College appoints clinical adviser

​Dr Paramdeep Bilkhu will work with Daniel Hardiman-McCartney

Dr Paramdeep Bilkhu has been appointed as a clinical adviser at the College of Optometrists following Dr Susan Blakeney’s departure after 19 years in the role.

The independent prescribing optometrist started work with Daniel Hardiman-McCartney in the role on November 17, responding to member’s queries and providing them with clinical, professional and ethical support.

Dr Bilkhu is a research and teaching fellow at Aston University and regularly works in a practice in the West Midlands. His has an interest in ocular allergic disease and meibomian gland dysfunction diagnostics and management.

‘As a practising optometrist, the College has provided me with never-ending support and opportunities for professional development so I’m looking forward to be able to give back to the profession to the best of my ability,’ he said.
