Emergency eye care service launched by Locsu

The scheme is designed to provide emergency eye care via remote consultation

A Covid-19 Urgent Eyecare Service (Cues) has been developed to enable optical practices to provide safe consultations and care to patients during the pandemic.

It is designed to provide emergency eye care via remote telephone or video consultation in order to minimise the need for patient travel and risk of Covid-19 infection transmission.

Patients would be able to self-manage their ocular condition, be managed by an optical professional with advice, guidance and remote prescribing or be appropriately referred.

Cues enables members of the wider practice team, such as contact lens opticians, to provide support for a broader range of eye conditions than is typically offered.
