To support effective social distancing upon the reopening of optical practices, Essilor has made key pieces of equipment available on a six-month deferred payment scheme.

The equipment available on the scheme includes a non-contact measuring device for lenses, an eye health screening device and a digital refraction device.

Tim Precious, managing director at Essilor, explained: ‘The pandemic could shift the way we conduct eye examinations forever, as we’re told by the government to prepare for another year of some form of social distancing.

‘While patients and eye care practitioners are worried about the risk of contracting Covid-19 and navigating a new normal, using equipment that can be operated at distance will help put everyone’s mind at rest.’
