Feeling the Dark Side’s power at coffee morning

The Specsavers practice in Belper, Derbyshire hosted a Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning with Darth Vader and Stormtroopers.

Staff and their families provided patients with a spread of homemade food and donated the takings to the charity. Members from the UK Garrison 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming group based in Derbyshire also attended the event as a regular feature of the practice’s charity events. This year, Darth Vader attended for the first time.

Specsavers Belper store director Andy McBride said: ‘We take part in the Macmillan coffee morning every year, and since 2015 have raised more than £2,000.’
