GOC performance review

The GOC's chief executive has welcomed a PSA report

The GOC has met 22 of the 24 standards of good regulation in a review by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

All relevant standards were met for guidance and standards, education and training, and registration. Eight out of 10 standards for fitness to practise (FTP) were met, with the two not met relating to the timeline of FTP cases and the communication of FTP decisions.

However, the PSA recognised the GOC’s commitment to improve its timelines with FTP cases as detailed in the organisation’s strategic plan for 2020-25.

Lesley Longstone, GOC chief executive, said: ‘We welcome the authority’s report and are pleased it has recognised our commitment to improving our processes.’
