IbisVision appoints facial recognition developer

IbisVision's facial recognition technology will work with remote sight testing

IbisVision has appointed Will Silva as lead developer as the company targeted the creation of software for facial recognition to work alongside its remote eye test technology.

Silva’s appointment would bring previously outsourced work in-house and he would develop mechanisms that detect movement and allow for patients to undergo accurate eye tests at home.

IbisVision explained that its technology mitigates for the movements that patients often make, even when attempting to hold still.

Speaking about his the technology, Silva said: ‘This software takes facial recognition to a whole new level, allowing for dynamic movement so that readings can be taken even when a person is not held in a fixed position – it's the Holy Grail for remote optical technology.’
