Increase in searches for myopia

The Myopia Profile and EssilorLuxottica said myopia-related searches increased

Engagement among eye care professionals (ECP) using the Myopia Profile’s resources has significantly increased since partnering with EssilorLuxottica to create and share educational tools.

Myopia Profile and EssilorLuxottica said there had been a 10-fold growth in search terms for ‘myopia control spectacles lenses’ over the last year among ECPs and a four-fold increase in searches by members of the public.

Dr Kate Gifford, founder and director of Myopia Profile, said: ‘We have seen doubling growth year-on-year and are thrilled to see the myopia message spreading wider and wider – but we can also see where there is more work to do.’

A series of podcasts were planned on clinical communication in myopia management, as well as the fundamentals of getting started in providing services in optical practices.
