Specsavers co-founder Doug Perkins has urged fellow optical retail chains, bodies and charities to work more closely to prevent avoidable sight loss.
He was speaking at a House of Lords reception to mark a new campaign between the multiple and the RNIB today.
A £3m investment by Specsavers helped fund the RNIB's State of the Nation Eye Health report 2016 as part of a wider tie-up.
Perkins addressed high profile guests and MPs at the awareness event including Penny Lancaster, the vice president of RNIB, and rock star Rod Stewart.
He said: 'The RNIB is globally acknowledged and it is our to aim to help the charity extend its reach.'
