Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust receives outstanding rating

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The rating for being effective was awarded due to patient outcomes in specialities being better than national and international standards, good multidisciplinary working across all services and research projects with ophthalmology providers in order to drive improvement in care and treatment for patients.

David Probert, chief executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital, said: ‘We are delighted that the effectiveness of our services has been recognised as outstanding, and that inspectors observed this high level of care and expertise during their visits. This achievement is thanks to the dedication and commitment of our workforce at all levels – from doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to our administrative and clerical teams – who strive to improve and innovate in order to provide the compassionate care recognised in the CQC’s report.’
