Optegra invests £1.1m in latest laser eye surgery

Optegra invests £1.1m in laser eye surgery technology at two more hospitals

Optegra Eye Health Care has invested £1.1m in laser eye surgery technology at two more of its hospitals.

This investment has followed successes with the SMall Incision Lenticle Extraction (SMILE) technology at Optegra’s London and Manchester hospitals. The bladeless and flapless surgery will be rolled out to the company’s hospitals in Hampshire and Birmingham to enable staff to offer the latest technology to local patients for the first time.

Peter Byloos, chief executive officer of Optegra Eye Health Care, said: ‘Our vision correction surgeons in Central London and Manchester have been achieving fantastic results with SMILE, with our procedures securing a minimum of 20:20 vision for patients. For many patients, this latest third generation laser eye surgery offers the most suitable solution to their vision correction needs and we are delighted to invest in this technology in two further Optegra hospitals.’
