An optical technician in Solihull has received recognition for achieving the highest mark out of everyone in his cohort.

The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) awarded Chris Sewell the Arthur Sinclair prize after receiving high marks in his Level 4 Diploma for Optical Technicians exam during a ceremony held at the Apothecaries Hall on October 18.

Sewell has been studying for two years for the diploma as well as working at Specsavers’ Solihull practice.

Bradley Parkes, practice director, said: ‘Chris is a valuable member of our team and the award is justified recognition for his work in our lab.We encourage colleagues to carry on learning as they work, for the benefit of all the customers they will deal with over their future careers, and we are so pleased that Chris’ hard work and commitment has been rewarded by the WCSM.’
