Optometry Scotland’s 2018 roadshow successfully engaged with almost 450 professionals across all five events.
The events were free to attend and were aimed at ophthalmic teams involved in General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) in NHS Scotland. They took place in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow, which saw almost 180 attendees. The events focused on the relevant changes and information to help manage the submission of GOS claims more effectively.
Samantha Watson, chair of Optometry Scotland, said: ‘We’re delighted that so many turned out for our roadshow events – it’s great to be engaging closely with professionals in communities, while better understanding their unique needs, and raising awareness of collective aims. We’re now keen to expand on that success with plans for a webinar version that will reach even more professionals, particularly in rural communities.’
