A discussion on the implications of Brexit on the industry and an in-person members meeting have been announced by the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA).

On June 3, the OSA will meet to discuss post-Brexit medical devices regulation in order to collate comments and questions for the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

OSA consultant and chair of the meeting, Ann Blackmore, said: ‘It is doubly difficult for medical device manufacturers because the change has coincided with the introduction of new and different rules in the EU. That is why it is so important that the MHRA provides strong support and clear guidance.’

A networking event will take place on June 23 at The Oxfordshire hotel in Thame with a meeting to discuss general OSA business and get members together again.

Stuart Burn, chair of the OSA, said: ‘I am delighted we are holding our first physical event in well over a year and look forward to seeing as many members as possible. We all have stories to share and this event should give us a fantastic chance to reflect on our experiences and look forward to the future, in very conducive surroundings.’
