An appeal for witnesses has been made by police in West Lothian after a break-in at Specsavers on Blackness Road in Linlithgow.

Police officers are investigating after a man forced entry to the premises and stole display sunglasses at around 12.40am on June 7.

Detective Constable Sam Plastow from Livingstone CID, said: ‘Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses or potential private CCTV footage, which may assist us in identifying anyone involved.’

Plastow added that the stolen sunglasses contained demo lenses, which he highlighted did not offer UV protection and would cause damage to the eyes if worn.
