A cross-sector paper called We Are Primary Care has been released by a spectrum of primary care health professionals including pharmacy, hearing and optical sectors.

A political drive to address the extreme demand on general practice and fiscal pressure on the NHS by taking care out of hospital and into the community was addressed in the paper. It argued this could only be successful if people had a clear understanding GPs were not always the most appropriate first contact.
