Probert steps down as Moorfields chief executive

David Probert has announced than he will leave his position as chief executive at Moorfields Eye Hospital and join University College London Hospitals as chief executive in the summer.

Moorfields said that during Probert’s five year tenure, he led on important projects such as Oriel, its eye care research, education and treatment centre.

Probert commented that it has been an honour to work at Moorfields alongside dedicated and committed eye care professionals.

‘As we begin to rebuild our services following the pandemic and look to the future as we begin to develop a new five-year strategy, I feel that now is the right time for me to move on and to entrust the legacy of Moorfields to a new chief executive,’ he said.
