A review of how healthcare regulators, including the General Optical Council (GOC), responded to the pandemic has been launched by the Professional Standards Agency (PSA).

The PSA wants to identify the lessons that can be learned from the first phase of the pandemic in order to develop strategies and respond to the ongoing situation.

It would like to receive contributions from stakeholders to incorporate into its review and is looking for examples of what measures, policies and approaches were the most effective and why.

The review also asked if these measures should become the new normal and what areas need further work, as well as identifying if any regulatory gaps were missed.
