​Specsavers co-founders had their pay halved last year

Specsavers founders Dame Mary and Doug Perkins had their pay out cut in half last year, according to recently filed accounts.

Despite the company recording a lift in profits, the couple’s dividend was cut to £17.4m last year compared to a £36.8m windfall in 2015.

Specsavers recorded a 1.2% lift in sales to £673.7m during the year to the end of February.
