Student optometrist erased for forging signature

Bella Reid's fitness to practise was impaired by reason of misconduct

Plymouth-based student optometrist, Bella Reid, has been erased from General Optical Council registers after her fitness to practise was found to be impaired by reason of misconduct.

A fitness to practise committee heard that Reid forged her supervisor’s signature on her practice placement workbook to confirm that she had attended the last day of her placement.

The allegation took place on or around April and May 2017 and the committee decided her actions were dishonest because she forged the signature and had not attended the last day of her placement.
