Nicola Sturgeon helps highlight the issue of sight loss

First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon helped highlight the issue of sight loss experienced by older people north of the border by attending the opening of a specialist care home in Paisley.

Jenny’s Well is only the second specialist sight loss care home for in Scotland and is run by Scotland’s largest vision impairment charity, Royal Blind.

Residents at Braeside House in Edinburgh, the country’s first sight loss care home were involved in planning the design of Jenny’s Well to ensure it provided the best environment possible. This included a sensory garden, specialist lighting to reduce glare, tactile signage, and access to specialist equipment.
