Surgical training underway at Newmedica clinics

Newmedica has opened its facilities for training of NHS eye surgeons with the opportunity to work with experienced consultants and enhance their skills.

It is part of an agreement to ensure medical trainees have opportunities to train within the independent sector in elective surgery and diagnostic activities.

Nigel Kirkpatrick, clinical director at Newmedica, said: ‘The next generation of surgeons will undoubtedly benefit from spending dedicated time in our modern surgery centres, where they’ll have the opportunity to see lots of patients. We offer closely supervised training sessions with experienced consultants to allow the trainees to increase their skills.’
