Technology’s influence on care surveyed

Attendees at an Optos webinar were surveyed

Almost a third (29%) of practitioners who attended an Optos webinar said a lack of advanced technology in primary care has a negative impact on the quality of eye care provided.

Optos surveyed 51 eye care professionals during its latest webinar, which was titled 'Staying ahead as patient demands evolve.'

It found that 59% believed the pandemic changed patients’ expectations of optical appointments and 65% planned to keep social distancing measures in place long-term.

Gareth Steer, vice president of sales in Europe at Optos, said: ‘We’re confident that as an industry, we can keep evolving alongside the changing demands of our patients, and provide the tools and guidance needed to ensure people are receiving the best eye care possible.’
