Drink-driving can teach the eye care profession a lot about public health messaging around vision and driving. This topic is particularly relevant as the festive season approaches but as with all education the approach will be key.

Road Safety Week (November 21-27) gave retail opticians the opportunity to show their appetite for passing on messages about the importance of good vision when driving. Specsavers and Vision Express certainly stepped up to the plate with engaging and eye catching ways of raising the topic. Vision Express should also be commended for its practical work in engaging MPs and seeing questions posed in parliament.
