“Yes I’ll do a half Ironman distance triathlon”, is a really easy thing to say, then comes the training.

When you have done an Ironman and an Ironman 70.3 ( that’s a Half Ironman) before you even fool yourself that it’s no biggie. Problem is it is a biggie. With about six weeks to go the run in to the Sussex Original Triathlon has started in earnest. The Summer has been great – weatherwise, trainingwise less so. The thought of going for a 20km run or a five hour cycle when its 32 degrees centigrade is not a pleasant one.
