We need to address the 'waiting room woes' that stop patients seeking treatment

Sight is a precious gift and arguable the most important of our senses. So it must be reasonable logic to everyone that they have a regular eye examination to make sure that their eyes are healthy and if there is anything amiss to get help as early as possible. And yet we all know this is not the case and members of the public do not have regular eye examinations, if in fact they have ever have an eye examination.

The recent ‘Waiting Room Woes’ report, commissioned by NHS England makes interesting reading and helps to educate us, to understand why people do not seek medical advice and then to consider what we can do about it. The top issues highlighted were that 79% of people fail to seek health advice as a result of their fears and closer to home 17% admitted their optician made them nervous.
