View from the AIO: It's conference time

AIO
There are many new services being launched at our October conference

It’s all happening in Cambridge on October 1 and 2. For quite some time AIO has been working on offering enhanced benefits to its members that range from new insurance products, to helping people into and out of independent practice, and providing a public facing quality mark that would help to differentiate the sector.

In addition, the association has long laboured over the definition of independent and has come to a final position which is both positive and inclusive.

There are three new insurance products being launched in Cambridge including a new practice-based PI product that takes away the need for individual optoms and DOs to have their own PI. There are also new general insurance and income protection insurance policies tailored for AIO members.

In addition, the new AIO ‘Incubation and Acceleration’ service will go live in Cambridge which is designed to help people into independent practice and through their early years of practice ownership, and also to help those wishing to retire from practice ownership. The route map for the new independents quality mark will be unveiled in Cambridge as will the new definition of independent as set by the association.

So where is all this happening? – at the AIO Conference at the Moller Centre in the grounds of Churchill College on October 1 and 2. With an excellent main lecture programme, and more than 30 CET points on offer the conference is excellent value at £75 for Sunday and £50 for Monday.

For students attending the special student programme it is free, as it is for those attending the ‘How to be a successful independent’ programme. To book a space call 0800 1300 486 and ask for Lin or email lin@aiovision.org.
