There were several reasons why this year's Eyecare 3000 event was memorable. The usual mix of high quality lectures and lecturers alongside hands-on practical workshops was one. The addressing of a haggis in front of the great and the good of Scottish optometry, all wearing a variety of sponsored sun spectacles, accompanied by a blues band, and over a week in advance of Burn's night, was another.
