Eyecare 3000's move into the Republic of Ireland will be repeated next year, event organiser Scott Mackie has told Optician.
The first Dublin version of the expansive educational course and optical exhibition name attracted 115 delegates, and Mackie was optimistic for the future staging of Eyecare 3000 in Southern Ireland, particularly as lectures were rated highly by attendees.
'This resounding success for our inaugural conference in Europe will see the course return next year with an expanded format,' he said.
Delegates rated Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology Professor Gordon Dutton's speech 'To refer or not to refer?' the best lecture, and No 7 Contact Lenses professional services manager Katie Yeo's workshop on Ortho K in practice was rated the best in that category.
As well the education programme, visitors to the Portmarnock Hotel enjoyed a golf competition and a dinner on the evening of the event.
