Perhaps the most universal wish among wearers of high-minus spectacles is to have thinner lenses. The most common means to achieve this is to dispense high-index lenses. Our experience working in Taiwan, where dioptric myopia often runs in the double-digits, has shown us that despite the selection of ultra-high index lenses (for example 1.74 index CR39), many customers are still are not satisfied with the appearance of their lens edges. One method of reducing edge thickness and improving a frame's cosmetic appearance is through edge faceting.
