An open mind is the best thing delegates can bring along to this weekend's Optrafair, says Andrew Actman, chairman of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians.
As they pace the halls of the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre, delegates should be constantly scanning the stands, and be on the look out for new and interesting products. And shopping lists - while useful - should not be rigidly adhered to.
Leave your list at home
'If everyone walked into that show with an open mind, it would be brilliant,' Actman says. 'Some people will walk in those doors with a shopping list of what they are after, they will visit those particular stands and then go straight home. But they will miss so much.
