The availability of free optical services is often misunderstood by parents and the impetus to book an eye test only sparked in serious cases. To fill that gap Transitions is providing schools with lesson packs for Key Stage 2 (7-11-year-olds) with a general eye care message which it hopes will filter through to children, parents and teachers. 'We have always been concerned about healthy sight,' says Roland Allen, business director for northern Europe. 'Our product provides protection from UV, reduces glare and improves visual comfort. It's much better to prevent and protect against age-related problems and Transitions with all of those benefits does all of that.
