'After serving my time I thought why not give it a go alone? The lab started off as a one man band in a little factory unit in Newcastle city centre. After a few years there, we moved into the Maling Clock Tower building on Walker Road, followed by premises in Byker. We've kept outgrowing the facilities and now are based in Whorlton Grange in the north part of the city.'

The company now employs 18 staff in total, with the most significant addition coming seven years ago when Paul Hadwin joined, adding another 40 years of lens servicing and experience to the operation, having previously worked as production director for Norville in the north east and Gloucester.
