Frames
Friday the 13th is deemed by many superstitious souls to be unlucky. For Mykita, however, that date brought only good fortune. Shannon McKenzie reports

Located in Mitte - a creative district in the heart of Berlin - the new Mykita store is the culmination of three years of hard work from founding members Harald Gottschling, Philipp Haffmanns, Daniel Haffmanns and Moritz Krueger. Applying the same innovative approach to design that has made their frames so popular, the Mykita team has again managed to combine functionality with style.

On one side of the store is a brilliant white, curved wall made from Dexion - 1930s shelving that was originally used in heavy-load storage facilities. The shelving is perforated, allowing display ledges for frames to be hooked into the wall. This also means the wall displays can be easily rearranged In the centre of the store is a large table - or rather - airline trolleys clustered under a wooden table top. Acquired from Swiss Air, the trolleys are a quirky addition to the store, but also serve as perfect storage solutions.
