Echoes of the past: Question Time

A Question Time event at this weekend’s Optrafair in Birmingham will feature some of the leading figures of today’s profession.

However, the concept of grilling leaders on their ambitions for the future – just call it practice for next month’s election – is also evident in Echoes of the Past from April 16 1965.

A Question Time event at The Turnberry Hotel, more notorious as a venue for the world’s top golfers, was held at the Annual Conference of Scottish Ophthalmic Opticians 50 years ago, followed by a coach tour of Ayrshire, banquet and dance.
