Meanwhile, the Futura frame, by Levers Optical Co, was made from ‘the finest obtainable material’. It seems a crying shame the black and white print run-off could not do justice to the wow factor of acrylic colours on a pink acetate base.
‘Now in three delicious new colours’ was the Marion frame, Carl Zeiss was enticing practices some groovy designs of its own and who was to argue with ‘Wonderful New Mirage’ – the Rolls Royce of spectacle design.
