Other than a few trips to the municipal pitch-and-putt as a teenager, my golfing ability has never had the opportunity to flourish. I did, however, once delude myself that my ability warranted investing in a pair of golf shoes. So when Bausch & Lomb invited someone from Optician for a round of golf to launch its new Nike MaxSight tinted contact lenses, I found I was the most qualified.

I was understandably intrigued by Nike's new sport-tinted contact lenses, MaxSight, developed in conjunction with and distributed by Bausch & Lomb.

News of Nike's 'red' lenses leaked last spring (Optician, May 13) when a US sports star gave a more detailed answer than anyone expected when a journalist asked what he had in his eyes.
