Trevor Rowley has a habit of attracting interesting and eclectic speaker line-ups at Optix’s annual user group meeting and this year was no exception, Chris Bennett travelled to Celtic Manor to find out more

What do a bullied schoolboy turned entrepreneur-banker, a woman who rowed the Atlantic single-handed, a hippy free-thinking guru and a former leader of the Conservative Party have in common?

As the 300 or so independent optical practice staff who attended will happily tell you they were all on the bill at this year’s Optix Usergroup meeting.

This varied list of speakers, proudly introduced by Optix’s managing director Rowley, set the scene for this popular meeting. These headliners were layered between very practical sessions on business information, improvements to the Optix business management software and workshops teasing out what users want from Rowley’s highly regarded software platform.
