Business
February’s results provide a number of positives, from improved turnover to growth for progressive lenses

Last month we reported an improvement over the preceding month but some of the key performance indicators failed to meet the results achieved in January of the previous year. In February the trend continues with all our indicators higher than last month but, with the exception of the value of solutions sold and total turnover, the results were lower than the same month in 2013. This month’s focus is on eye examinations and sample average dispensing volume.

Total practice turnover has improved by 3 per cent on January figures to 173 Index points and is just under 0.5 per cent higher than February last year. This is the highest Index figure we have seen since June 2011 and annual growth is positive at almost 1 per cent. Turnover per eye examination is up by almost £1 to £173 from January, this is £6 lower than February last year.
