'A long time ago when I first came into retail I worked for Boots for seven years in a variety of operational and commercial positions,' she recalls. But other roles beckoned and the business-like Scot left the company to work for a number of retailers, most recently Dixons.
Her opportunity to return came late last year when the top job at Boots Opticians became available. 'I was looking for a change, I had always had an affection for Boots and its commitment to the healthcare agenda,' she explains. 'I met the current senior management and I really liked their energy and pace, and their strategy for the business. It sounded like an interesting proposition.'
