Topcon has become the exclusive distributor of Keeler products in the South East of England and for NHS Supply Chain following an agreement between the two firms.
The deal includes direct and indirect ophthalmoscopes, retinoscopes, ophthalmic sets, cryo-surgical units, the Pulsair range of non-contact tonometers and other sight testing accessories. The two firms already have a similar distribution arrangement in Ireland. Topcon will also sell Keeler equipment on a non-exclusive basis in areas of the UK outside the South East.
Andrew Yorke, medical director of Topcon (GB), said: 'We are delighted to be offering our customers an even wider range of high quality products from a globally respected company. The long-standing relationship that has existed between our two companies, combined with our extensive wealth of knowledge and experience will further enhance our respective market standings.'
Keeler said its strategy was to focus more resources on the design and development of devices and to increase sales in the UK by working more closely with distributors and suppliers to the optometric profession.
Brian Moran, Keeler's sales manager, said: 'This is a really exciting sales partnership, our customers will get better access to quality British manufactured products.'
