High tech for high performance

Optician presents a selection of cutting edge ophthalmic lens products designed to deliver top notch visual performance

Essilor Varilux XR

Essilor

Varilux XR

Varilux XR series is said to harness the power of behavioural artificial intelligence to deliver the first eye-responsive varifocal lens, for instant sharpness even in motion. Essilor’s R&D team created the XR-motion technology, which uses a digital twin to simulate a patient’s visual experience in a 3D environment.

It replicates real-life tasks to predict the patient’s visual behaviour in daily life, so the lens design is adjusted to their visual needs, minimising aberrations, and optimising the binocular navigation of the eyes.

For an up to 25% wider near vision area and more comfort with digital devices, the lens can be further personalised with a quick near vision behaviour measurement performed in practice, using the Visioffice X, Visioffice 3 or Eye-Ruler 2.

This interactive measuring process uses vocal and visual instructions to adjust the lens’s near vision area, based on the positioning of the eye, the reading distance, the patient’s posture and behaviour.

DSW Optical

DSW Varifocal

DSW Optical notes that from the early beginnings of freeform generators, the limits of lens designs have been pushed further.

With IOT design and Camber technology, DSW Optical is said to provide a lens personalised to the lifestyle of the wearer and with compensated powers based on the fitting of the frame.

This allows the wearer to get the maximum use out of their glasses, offering significantly reduced oblique aberration and maximises the areas most used.

Hoya

Miyosmart Chameleon

Miyosmart was the first of a new generation of myopia management spectacle lenses when it made its international debut back in 2018.

Hoya says Miyosmart’s efficacy is impressive; including a two-year randomised controlled trial showing an average 60% slowdown in myopia progression and, at six years, what remains the longest follow-up clinical study of any myopia management spectacle lens.

More recently, Hoya launched its innovative Miyosmart Sun photochromic and polarised lens options.

Making full use of Hoya’s expertise in photochromics, Miyosmart Chameleon self-tinting spectacle lenses bring together the rapid fade-back speed first seen in its Sensity Fast lenses, with the proven myopia control effect of Miyosmart clear.

As such, Miyosmart Chameleon is said to be the perfect solution for active children; offering protection from bright and intense sunlight and full UV protection outdoors then returning to clear in seconds as soon as they step back inside.

Jai Kudo Lenses

Kudos

Jai Kudo Lenses’ Kudos lens is said to represent a breakthrough in high-tech eyewear.

Unlike traditional lenses with fixed base designs, Kudos is entirely bespoke, crafted through innovative gaze dynamics and immersive VR technology.

This cutting-edge process analyses all points and directions of gaze, at near, intermediate and distance focal lengths.

By tracking and capturing the unique movements of an individual’s eyes, Kudos creates a lens tailored precisely to their visual needs.

The result is a lens said to offer remarkably wider natural vision and significantly reduces oblique astigmatism. With Kudos, wearers experience unparalleled clarity and comfort, transforming the way they see the world.

Optimum Rx Group

Optiform Dual 3

Optiform Dual 3 from the Optimum RX Group is said to be a revolutionary progressive lens that applies the latest innovations in lens design technology. The key to Optiform Dual 3’s innovation lies in its dual-surface design, which combines the benefits of two distinct lens surfaces.

This design is said to optimise the visual experience by minimising distortions, reducing peripheral aberrations and providing a wider field of view. Wearers can enjoy clear and natural vision across all distances, enhancing their overall visual comfort.

Another notable feature of Optiform Dual 3 is its customisation capabilities. Each lens is tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of the wearer, considering factors such as prescription strength, frame dimensions and lifestyle requirements. This personalised approach is said to ensure a precise fit and maximise visual performance.

Tokai

Resonas X

Resonas X is described as an evolution of Tokai’s revolutionary neuroscience family of progressive lenses.

Tokai says that by combining its N-style binocular link system along with dual surface aspheric progressive design, Mytune engine and the newly developed Variable zone control design, it has achieved the Resonas X lens.

Resonas X is said to provide natural clear vision in all areas of vision with special attention in development paid to the near and far peripheral zones.

Furthermore, during the dispense, Tokai allows the finetuning of everything from the frame angle to near vision distance for a tailored and balanced wearer experience.

Eye Index

HD Camber Life Varifocal

Specialist lens laboratory Eye Index notes that certain aberrations can affect vision, despite the accuracy of the patient’s prescription corrections for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

Eye Index says its HD Camber Life Varifocal achieves minimum lateral distortion and creates superior image stability, combining complex curves on both surfaces of the lens to provide ultra-accurate vision correction.

Ideal for wearers looking for a fully customised solution and superb visual experience.
