Insight Q&A: Moin Valli, Valli Opticians

What’s your story with Valli opticians? 

Moin Valli I qualified as an optometrist in 2000 and acquired my first practice in 2005. Now, 11 years later, I own 14 optical practices across northern England, plus a lab, a home eye care company and a corporate eye care company called Valli Co-optic that specialises in providing eye care on-site for medium to large companies, with clients such as Arla Foods and EDF Energy.

Valli Group started in Yorkshire and initially grew around the Kirklees/Calderdale area buying privately owned practices as owners were looking to retire.

After acquisition there is usually significant investment made in the stores to enhance the technology, customer journey, clinical offering and product.
