Next month’s opti Munich trade show (January 25-27, 2019) is an event that has grown in stature over the past decade and is one of the only major optical exhibitions that is on an upwards trajectory, both in attendance and popularity with exhibitors.
A sign of this growth has been the addition of two more exhibition halls at the Fairground Munich venue on the outskirts of the city. Made up of six halls in total, the show now has the floorspace to serve the sizable waiting list of exhibitors.
It may be something of a cliché, but opti has a definite German feel to it: well organised, efficient and professional. The uniformity of the halls makes it easier to find your bearings, signposting is clear and logical and transfers from airports are plentiful – unlike some Italian trade shows. There is also a positive atmosphere at the event, with exhibitors and visitors in an optimistic mood at the start of the year.
