Third time’s the charm, or so the saying goes. Two-time previous finalist, Mellis Eyecare’s perseverance and diligence has resulted in it winning Optician’s Enhanced Optical Service Award 2018.
‘It was an amazing night,’ says Iain Mellis, optometrist owner of Mellis Eyecare. ‘It was surreal to hear your name being called out and walking up to the podium with people cheering all around you.’
Mellis says he was not expecting to win the award. ‘As a small independent firm, we were against a lot of competition, and very prestigious competition at that.’ He was familiar with some of the category’s previous winners, which made the achievement that bit more special. ‘To win a category that has been won by such prestigious optometrists in the past is an amazing feeling,’ he says.
