Direct ophthalmoscopy and then indirect ophthalmoscopy with a Volk lens showed an area of disturbance around the macular region. The Optomap was then used and showed much more clearly the central disturbance, with some of the characteristic streaking that one sees when an epiretinal membrane is stretched (Figure 1). This is seen best in the composite image, as opposed to either red or green specific.
