Dry eye disease is a rapidly growing problem, affecting up to a third of the UK population.1 With limited ophthalmology services available for those suffering, it is unsuprising that many optical practices are taking the plunge and offering a dedicated dry eye clinic. At first, this can be quite a daunting task.  

What treatments should we offer? How much should we charge for an appointment? How long do we allocate for each appointment?  

This article takes a close look at how to set up a dry eye clinic from the perspective of a practice that already has an established clinic. By no means is this a definitive guide, but it serves as a reference for anyone looking to make a start.
