Christie is a psychology graduate of Sheffield Hallam University and applied for the community development officer role with SeeAbility after seeing an advert in a local newspaper. She had worked within the care services for four years and thought she could apply her existing skills to the role.

'SeeAbility provided extensive training on eye conditions, as well as practical exercises such as walking around the streets and eating breakfast wearing a blindfold to gain an understanding of what life without sight is like,' she explains.
