Wearing a prescription swimming goggle is a bit of a lightbulb moment for swimming spectacle wearers, especially those with a reasonable correction. Being able to see in a swimming pool is both desirable and important for safety. Mums and dads can keep track of their kids while competitve swimmers and triathletes need to keep an eye on the clock of their competitors.

Swans is a well known provider of quality swimming goggles and their products use silicone parts, double gaskets around the eyes, offer different sizes of nose bridge and a quality optical lens. All of the parts are replaceable and Japanese product has a quality feel about it.

Swans has taken its popular, mirrored SR2M model and given it the option of tinted prescription lenses in powers from -1.5 to -8.0 to form the FO-2.OP. As a wearer used to a more triathlete shape, larger to absorb possible impacts, the FO-2.OP goggle is a neat package with a sleek and sporty profile in the water.

Adjustment of the straps is simple and the position chosen secure and the goggle remained leak-free through the duration of a brisk 1km swim. When in use the goggle was surprisingly comfortable given the low profile eye shape. The goggle also provides good, peripheral vision. On test the lens didn't steam up, despite being used in an indoor pool, and the prescription and tint provided excellent vision. If the FO-2.OP continues to perform this well it will be a welcome addition to the kit bag.
