The first thing to note about the latest sunglass model from Maui Jim is the robust acetate build of Kahoma’s slightly retro shape.
The Kahomo is described by the company as an updated 1950s Wayfarer, a unisex model with a great fit, and it’s hard to disagree.
In terms of the frame there are quality touches like spring hinges, inbuilt nose pads and cutaway edge detailing on the front. The model sent through was in an eye-catching honey tortoise, that was a warm, golden colour. The combination of the design and the honey acetate prompted several avid eyewear wearers/writers to comment that Kahoma was ‘quite different for Maui Jim’. I would agree that it’s the most stylish Maui Jim model I’ve tried on to date.
