Earlier this year Norville introduced Progear Optical frames (20.07.12) designed to offer eyewear suitable for everyday wear and sports. Optician decided to challenge Norville on these claims and asked to try out a supra style glazed with a wrapped, progressive, Transitions Vantage lens.
The result is a modern looking frame quite at home in an everyday setting, it looks quite edgy for the office but still stylishly modern. The photochromic and polarising lens provided excellent vision in sunlight although it appeared to hang onto its tint a little more than expected once indoors. The lens on trial also had the benefit of a reading addition. On a sunny day in a casual setting the piece comes into its own. It's smart and comfortable and provides ideal vision indoors and out, close and far. The orange colourway chosen also drew positive comment. The variable tint and polarised base-8 wrapped lens gave great vision and sun protection and, despite the wearer being a first-time progressive user, there were no adaptation issues with the Norville freeform generated lens.
